We are located in the Carlington area, on a quiet residential street with nature and recreation nearby.
Raven Park is right on the corner of Larose and Larkin, with mature trees, a kiddie pool and playground, and a small soccer field. Carlington Park, a block away, has access to walking trails through a wooded area, as well as a tobogganing hill, a soccer field and two baseball diamonds.
There’s also a bicycle path connecting to the network of cycling and walking paths through the Experimental Farm, which is only a few minutes away by bike. Westboro Beach and Remic Rapids on the Ottawa River are about a five-minute drive from the co-op.
If growing food is your thing, you can get a plot in our neighbourhood’s community garden, just a block away on the near side of Carlington Park.
For shopping, the co-op is near the Hampton Park, Westgate, and Carlingwood Shopping Centres, as well as all the shops and restaurants along Carling Avenue and Merivale Roads. The Westboro area is also nearby. We’re a short hop down Carling Avenue to the Civic Hospital, and there’s a fire station around the corner at Carling and Kirkwood.
We are serviced by bus routes 53, 81, 114 less than one block from our doors and route 80 two blocks away.
We remember with gratitude that we live, play and work on lands that are, by law, unsurrendered and unceded territories of the Algonquin people. May we live with respect on this land, and in peace and friendship with its people.
