Committees are the beating heart of co-op life. Most of us at Andy Andras have participated in committees or the Board of Directors, or both, at some time during our time here. Members do come and go, though, so we encourage new members to investigate and join a committee they’re interested in. A number of us are on more than one committee. We like to stay busy.
Here’s an overview.
The Gardening Committee manages and maintains flower beds in the common areas of the property, while members who live on the ground floor with patio access maintain their own. The committee also manages lawn care for the entire property.

The newsletter committee publishes a monthly newsletter 10 times a year. The newsletter covers issues related to our co-op (notes from the Board meetings, calendar of events, special announcements, introduction of new members, etc.) as well as special features, such as series on herbs and edible flowers, introduction of local restaurants, and pictures from co-op events. We also welcome submissions from the general membership.
The Social Committee organizes social and recreational events for the enjoyment of Andy Andras Members.
The Website Committee planned, designed and created the website you have before you. The Committee also continues the work of maintaining the site, including systems for functions such as site backups and software updates, site security, site memberships, regular content updates, ongoing design and functionality updates, and much more.
We remember with gratitude that we live, play and work on lands that are, by law, unsurrendered and unceded territories of the Algonquin people. May we live with respect on this land, and in peace and friendship with its people.
